Hip Pain After Running? Here is How To Tackle It!!

There are people who have a habit of after coming from work going for a walk or jogging. They feel very light and fit after following such routine be it the morning time or some other time. But sometimes, after returning from such activity they often feel pain in the hips which is very irritating. The reason behind this is the alignment issue that becomes the major cause of hip pain. In case if this condition is left untreated then it can interfere in your normal activity and hinder your enthusiasm.

Pain that is usually felt and is said to be as chronic hip pain, is at the glutes, upper thighs around the pelvis. Moreover, the hip joints are also involved.

Let’s explore the injury possibilities that occur while you are running or you experience after it.

Injury Possibilities

It happens that while walking upon one leg there is greater impact than the other. In such a situation the longer leg, if runners face, experience:

Hip injuries & Soreness

This is the most obvious injury, as while running it happens that the increased forceful impact is transmitted towards your hip thus causing chronic hip pain.

IT band Syndrome

This issue occurs as a result of weak hips and glutes. Adding to this it can also occur when the person is bearing greater load thus causing pressure on the hip bones.

Hamstring strains

The hamstring becomes more vulnerable to strains as the body is in a running situation and the longer leg has to do greater work of moving the body in forward direction.

Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome

The knee of the longer leg, usually has to face much trouble as it becomes vulnerable to injury.

The short leg that is said to be in the mid situation is likely to face the Achilles tendonitis

What are the Causes leading to Hip Pain?

Strength Imbalance

Facing this, the runner would tilt to one side than the other thus creating pressure on the hips and resulting in chronic hip pain

Injury History

In case you have met an accident and hurt your hip bone then there are chances of experiencing chronic hip pain.

Poor Posture

Sometime while sitting or standing, we are leaning on one side that can eventually land us into facing acute hip pain. Try to maintain a good posture that will not have any adverse affect on your bodily parts.
