Changing The Sleeping Position

In case you are facing shoulder pain in your right shoulder, so in such a situation make sure that you sleep on the opposite side that is on your left shoulder or at you back. If sleeping on your back causes pain or irritates the shoulder then try supporting your arm with the pillow.

Rest

When you know that it is an injury in the shoulder that is causing acute pain then it is a sign that your shoulder needs rest, rather some time for the injury to heal. Try quitting those activities that require extensive shoulder involvement such as swimming, throwing a baseball etc. Instead find an alternative to these like riding a stationary bike.

Warming Up

Before stepping into the field to play volleyball or baseball, try to warm up yourself by performing mild exercises. For instance, you can start this by a walk and then slowly and gradually building the stamina for a jog. Doing this, will help increase your heart rate and through your body temperature a synovial fluid is activated that helps in lubricating the joints thereby relieving the shoulder pain to a greater extent.
