An accurate diagnosis is critical to treating and managing your chronic pain. The Pain Management Institute begins with an interdisciplinary approach, personalized to meet your special needs.
Meeting the Institute Team
Several specialists will ask you questions about your pain and medical history to determine your strengths, abilities, needs and preferences.
The specialists who evaluate each patient vary according to each patient's needs. You may meet with a pain anesthesiologist, psychiatrist, psychologist, physical therapist or occupational therapist. If you need to meet with any other specialist, we can refer you to one within our center, if you wish.
You may have to answer some of the same questions when you meet with each team member to pin point the right treatment plan. Please be patient; although the questions are similar, each specialist is concerned with a specific aspect of your health and will gain a different perspective of your condition. Your responses will help us work with you to plan the right course for your treatment.
After each specialist has met with you, they will meet together to discuss the evaluation results. Together they will decide the best treatment approach to get you back on the road to recovery. |
